Awareness programme conducted

The Indian Medical Association Manipur organised an awareness programme on breast cancer, breast-feeding support and cervical cancer as part of International Women's Day celebration at Langei village, Nongpok Sekmai yesterday.
Women of the village were sensitized on importance of self examination of breast and encouraged to practice it at home.
Dr RK Rupabati also highlighted the advantages of breastfeeding and its role in preventing many diseases including cancer.
Advisor of IMA, Dr Mohen gave an introductory note on the theme while IMA Women Doctors wing president Khuraijam Ranjana Devi spoke on the role of women in gender equality.
Dr James Elangbam, Dr Lira Ngangom, office bearers of IMS Dr Nelson, Dr Vivekananda, Dr Arun, Dr Komolina and other members were also part of the session.
