Imphal - Moreh Road bandh lifted temporarily

The indefinite bandh along the Imphal - Moreh section of National Highway 102 called by civil organizations of Aimol Tribe in protest against alleged failure of the State Government to evict the encroachers along the Aimol road from Pallel to Lingsikung has been called off temporarily from 6.30 p.m.today.
Speaking to media in this regard, Sumleai Chunglalthang, General Secretary of Aimol Students' Union Manipur (ASUM) said that the indefinite bandh imposed in protest against the indifferent attitude of the state government towards the demand for evicting the encroached structures along the Aimol Road from Pallel was suspended temporarily from 6.00 p.m.today after taking into consideration of the suffering of the people on account of the bandh.
"However, we will continue with a series of intense agitations in the near future if the state government continue to ignore our demand", the student leader warned.
He also expressed gratitude to all individuals and organizations particularly the Student League Manipur and OMIPM for extending support and cooperation during the indefinite bandh.
