Several political leaders, civil bodies greet people of Manipur on Ningol Chakouba

On the auspicious occasion of the greatest festival of Manipur 'Ningol Chakouba' to be celebrated across the state on October 25, president of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) Gaikhangam has greeted the people of Manipur, while wishing that the festival may bring a progressive, peaceful and prosperous Manipur.
In his message to the people, Gaikhangam, the Deputy Chief Minister of the state, has emphasized the importance of the 'Ningol Chakouba' in maintaining the relationships between the brothers and sisters, as well as parents and daughters of Manipur.
The MPCC message has also mentioned significance of the festival in reviving the age-old ties between the hill and valley residents.
Dr..TMeinya, member of parliament representing Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency has extended his best wishes on the occasion of Ningol Chakouba.
In his message, Dr.Meinya said the festival of Ningol Chakouba which has been in existence since time immemorial will bring bonds of love among the people of Manipur.
Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister AK Mirabai has greeted the women of all communities residing in Manipur on the occasion of 'Ningol Chakouba' festival to be celebrated all across the state on October 25.In a message, the Minister has said that Ningol Chakouba is a significant festival for the women of Manipur particularly the married women who visit their paternal house on this day for a grand feast along with parents and brothers.
She appealed to the people of the state to avoid competitions on the gifts on this auspicious occasion.
While offering blessings for a long and prosperous life to the brothers and elders of the state on this occasion, AK Mirabai has also wished that the festival would bring an end to crimes and violence against women.
The Deputy Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly, MK Preshow Shimray has also sent his greetings on the auspicious occasion of Ningol Chakouba, which his message has described as a unique festival celebrated with great enthusiasm and sense of belongingness among the sisters and brothers, and parents and daughters as well.
In his message, MK Preshow Shimray wished that the festival would set aside all differences and bring peaceful co-existence and development of Manipur.
The Communist Party of India, Manipur State Council has also sent its heartfelt greetings to the people with the coming of Ningol Chakouba day.
A statement signed by Assistant secretary L.Thoiren of the party wished the festival would bring an independent society with equality of status.
