Edibles, medical items distributed

Several individuals and organisations including Sekmai MLA Heikham Dingo distributed edibles and medical items to people in containment zones, hospital and to artistes on Sunday.
MLA Dingo provided edible items, medicines, pulse oximeters and sanitizers to 80 households under containment zone in Loitang Khunou village under the Sekmai assembly constituency.
Speaking at the programme which was also attended by Khurkhul PHC MO in-charge Dr Premchand and Sekmai AC Covid-19 Frontline Warrior Group volunteers, MLA Dingo appealed to the public to get vaccinated saying that it the best available option to get protected from the infectious disease.
There is no option other than getting vaccinated for the public to protect themselves against the pandemic, he reiterated and also assured that mass testing will continue in the AC along with vaccination programme at Sekmai CHC, Khurkhul PHC and Phayeng PHC.
Meanwhile, Sunbird Trust which works in education sector in Northeast, on the request of Tamenglong district commissioner Armstrong Pamei, provided Arterial Blood Gas and Electrolyte Analyzer for the soon to be opened ICU at Tamenglong District Hospital.
The machine was handed over by Sunbird Trust members Haobijam Dianarose, Arjun and Pratip Ganguly to Tamenglong District Hospital.
It may be mentioned here that Sunbird Trust has been providing Covid-19 medical supplies in collaboration with district administrations of Singhat, Churachandpur, Moirang, Bishnupur, Noney and Oinam.
On the other hand, intending candidate from Naoriya Pakhanglakpa assembly constituency and BJP Manipur Pradesh state executive member Sagolshem Kebi Devi distributed edibles and cash to 44 ASHA workers of the AC during a programme held at Chumthang Sanapung, Langthabal on Sunday.
The programme was also attended by Imphal West adhyaksha RK Taruni as chief guest and Hiyangthang Gram Panchayat Zilla Parishad member S Shilasana as guest of honour.
LJP state Unit general secretary Khundrakpam Kanba Meitei and Keirao GP former pradhan Mutum Romeshchandra (Nganbi) also distributed edibles to households in Lam-shang AC and Langdum village respectively.
Meanwhile, Film Forum Manipur (FFM) provided food items to artistes who are facing ill-health and to family members of artistes who passed away due to Covid-19 or other diseases.
FFM members visited residences of actor Yanglem Ingocha at Toubul Mayai Leikai, Bishnupur district; Forum's joint secretary Usham Niljitkumar at Yairipok, Thoubal district as well as that of late film makers Mk Jeet, Irom Meipak, Sh Romio and comedian Thokchom Suramangol and handed over the edibles.
Speaking on the sidelines, FFM general secretary Ng Ghanashyam stated that the aid has been provided using the relief fund donated to the Artiste Relief Committee by Khurai MLA L Susindro.
