AR organises awareness campaigns

Chandel Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) organised a COVID-19 awareness program in Old Warangpal village, Chandel today to promote COVID Appropriate Behaviour.
In view of increase in number of daily Covid related cases and mortality which is likely the second wave of pandemic spread, it is necessary to.
create awareness among the locals regarding various precautions to be taken in order to contain spread and to engage people from remote localities of North East to make them aware about COVID-19 situation, said a statement issued by PRO Assam Rifles.
The awareness program started with educating the villagers about symptoms of COVID-19 and precautionary measures to be taken to curb the disease like maintaining social distancing and regular hand wash even after vaccination wherein the message of 'Dawaibhi', Kadai Bhi' was effectively disseminated to all the locals, added the statement.
Total 40 villagers attended the awareness campaign.
The village authorities expressed their gratitude and appreciated the endeavour of Assam Rifles for initiating such type of informative events.
In consonance with Manipur Government's War against Drugs Campaign, Loktak, Khuga and Churachandpur Battalion Assam Rifles under the aegis of Churachandpur Sector Assam Rifles organised an Anti Drug Awareness Programme at Salamkunjil village of Bishnupur district and Bualkot & Tuining village of Churachandpur district today.
The awareness programme was organised in response to the concerns raised by local populace and CSOs during the monthly security meet with respect to the increasing number of local youth falling prey to the Drug Menace, said another statement issued by PRO Assam Rifles.
As a part of the programme, an interactive lecture on harmful effects of drugs was conducted to generate awareness about the ill effects of drugs and to guide everyone towards leading a healthy life and the awareness campaign witnessed energetic and overwhelming participation of over 120 youths and adults including ladies from the villages, added the statement.
The villagers and especialy the youths of the villages appreciated the effort of the Assam Rifles for organising such awareness programme in the remote villages, added the statement.
