Kangpokpi, December 04 2018:
The Kuki Students' Organization (KSO), Imphal condemned the assault and molestation of a couple at Iroisemba on November 27 and said such a crime should not go unpunished.
While appreciating the good policing work on the part of SP Imphal West and his team in the subsequent arrest of the offenders, the student body demanded that the arrested persons who had admitted to their crime must be chargesheeted at the earliest.
Letgoulen Gangte, Secretary, Information and Publicity of KSO Imphal said that it is unfortunate that such an abhorrent act of outraging the modesty of woman in front of her husband has happened in real life while adding that the Govt needs to take such horrid crime seriously which has no place in civilized society.
He also said that the police in arresting the criminals has prevented a big trouble which otherwise could have even led to communal misunderstanding and lauded the police for their swift action and sincere service.
However, the student body cautioned that it will closely watch and monitor the outcome of the case and stated that the criminals must be charge-sheeted at the earliest and punished accordingly failing which the KSO will launch intense agitation.
