Imphal, July 24 2018:
Kangleipak Kanba Lup Manipur has urged the Government to make necessary arrangements for conducting a judicial enquiry instead of the Fact Finding Committee.
A press release issued by the association today demanded the Government and the authority concerned to conduct a judicial enquiry over the VC Professor Adya Prasad Pandey, suspend the VC during the enquiry.
The association also strongly opposed the idea of appointing a pro-VC and added that providing leave to an official under enquiry without any suspension is unheard of.
It warned that of the Fact Finding Committee collaborates with AP Pandey and make any attempts to keep him (Pandey) as the VC by claiming that he is innocent, the resulting consequences will have to be borne by the State Government.
The association further alleged that the act of protecting the VC by the State Government till now, is an insult and a challenge to the student community.
AP Pandey will have to be responsible for any loss in the academic career of the whole State, it warned.
