Imphal, July 24 2018:
Kanglei Indigenous Martial Arts and Cultural Society (KIMACS) has condemned the lack of any post for Thang-Ta lecturer in the 688 lecturer posts advertised by Education (S) .
The association has also demanded immediate stop to the issuance of forms for the said posts and has threatened to launch intense agitation if the authority concerned fail to heed its demand.
Speaking to media persons at KIMACS office at Palace Compound today, its president Ningthoujam Ajit said that forms are currently being issued for the posts of 688 lecturers under Education (S).
However, there is not a single post for a Thang-Ta lecturer which is very condemnable as Thang-Ta helps in imparting morals, physical values, discipline and traditions etc to the youth of the State, he added.
Ajit explained that the Government has included Thang-Ta as a subject in Class IX, X, XI and XII standards but till date the students have not been able to get any benefits from the said class/subject due to lack of Thang-Ta teachers as the Government has not taken up any positive steps to appoint the necessary teachers.
Many aspiring students have been left heartbroken due to the failure of the authority concerned to appoint necessary teachers.
This negligent attitude of the authority concerned is similar to completely disregarding the culture and tradition of the people, he alleged.
KIMACS has already submitted necessary memos to the Chief Minister and all other Ministers concerned as well but till date there has been no positive reply.
Demanding an immediate stop to the issue of forms for the appointment to the post of 688 lecturers, he warned that if the authority does not heed the demand of KIMACS, it will launch intense agitation and the consequences will have to be borne by the Government/authority concerned.
