Rural agricultural market shed inaugurated

MLA of Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC, S Subhaschandra inaugurated a rural agricultural market shed today.
The inaugural function was organised by Mekola Bazar Board under the aegis of Department of Agriculture, GoM inaugurated at Mekola Bazar.
Speaking as the chief guest of the function, Subhaschandra said that the market shed was constructed under Central Government's RKVY scheme for 2018-19.So far, 19 market sheds have been dedicated under the RKVY scheme, he said.
Agriculture Minister V Hangkhanlian gave the green light to construct the market shed considering the effort put by the former Agriculture Minister, he said while adding that the suggestions were taken from the locals regarding the location of the market.
The market has been set up at an appropriate location for people of Kodompokpi, Meitram, Lairenjam, Wangoi Assembly Constituencies along with residents of Govindagram and around Malom Terakha, he noted.
The MLA continued that the former Agriculture Minister W Angou and ex-Minister W Leima took several welfare initiatives for the development of Mekola area and added that, now that the BJP has come to power, the Government has even amplified the developmental progress in Mekola.
Kodompokpi Gram Panchayat Pradhan Thokchom Nandakumar attended the function as president and Kodompokpi Zilla Parishad ex-member Loitongbam Surchandra as the guest of honour.
