Imphal, March 18 2009:
Noted communist leader and former state minister Moirangthem Nabadweep died tonight at around 7 pm at his resident at Tera Khamnam Leikai.
He was 70.Nabadweep who was a cancer patient died after a long struggle with the disease.
He was recently return back after treating at a hospital at Mumbai.
The last rites of the decease will be performed tomorrow with a rich tribute which many communist leaders across the state are likely to take part.
The 70-year-old communist leader was elected in the eighth state Assembly from Patsoi Assembly Constituency as CPI candidate and was minister of state.
He was a teacher before joining politic.
