Imphal, September 20 2014 :
All Manipur Students' Guardian Organization (AMSGO) has made a fervent appeal to the authorities concerned to fill up the vacant post of Secretary of Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BSEM) at the earliest.
Addressing a press meet at its office at Palace Compound here today, S Sumati, secretary organization of AMSGO, said that the post of Secretary, BSEM has been lying vacant ever since it's former Secretary, L Rajmohan retired from the post on July 31 last and lamented that general administrative works of the Board have been paralyzed in absence of its Secretary.
It is most likely that there will be adverse affects in arranging next year's matriculation examination if the post of Secretary is not filled up without any further delay, she observed.
Stating that many students especially from poor families are facing financial difficulties owing to higher rate of registration fee charged by BSEM and COHSEM, she urged the government to grant adequate budget to Education Department so as to reduce higher rate of registration fee charged by BSEM and COHSEM from students.
She also appealed to Directorate of Education (S) to look into the reports on inclusion of retired and deceased teachers in the ongoing rationalization process of government teachers and stop the practice of transferring teachers during mid-academic session.
