Dimapur, December 13 2013 :
After introduction of the IT-enabled tracking system for investigation and detection of crime "Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and System (CCTNS)" by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the crime status of Nagaland has improved.
Nagaland, according to NCRB (National Crime Record Bureau) report 2012, has been categorised as the "safest State for women", even as the national statistics for 2012 and 2013 indicate that crimes against women have increased in the country.
Nagaland has the lowest crime rate in India, and in order to sustain the grade under the NCRB, not only should the police be the example but the general public must also join hands in making Nagaland a State with "No crimes", the NCRB 2012 report said.
