'Positive outcomes of NEIDP formation to be felt soon'

Maintaining that North East India Democratic Party (NEIDP) was formed on the basis of truth and with the objective of fulfilling the aspirations and visions of the people, the party president Narengbam Samarjit Singh asserted that positive outcomes of the party formation will be felt by the people soon.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function of the party's State Unit Office cum one day political conference held today at Tera Sapam Leirak, Imphal West district.
Samarjit who recently bagged the prestigious "Indian Achiever Award for Emerging Company" asked the workers of NEIDP to contribute towards strengthening the regional party further.
Saying that truth never incorporates corruption, he claimed that the party is based on the principle of truth and committed to serve the people with sincerity.
He said that the party is essential for the people to meet their hopes, aspirations and visions for future.
Samarjit opined that the North East region could compete with other developed States and countries only when the people use their potential in the righteous manner.
When the North East people are able to do so, the region can contribute to the country to a large extent, he added.
He observed that the State Unit Office will strengthen the party and that the party would flourish across the State in the days to come.
Referring to the demand made by STDCM for inclusion of Meiteis/Meeteis in the Scheduled Tribe list, he mentioned that the demand is legitimate.
Delivering key-note address at the function, Elangbam Brojendro, vice president, Central Working Committee, NEIDP reminded that the political party was established on December 23, 2015 at Sagolband Tera Loukrakpam Leikai under the aegis of Narengbam Samarjit.
He said that the party was declared as a registered political party by Election Commission of India (ECI) on August 1, 2016 and it has its own rules and regulations under the Representation of the People Act, 1951 under Section 29 A of ECI.
He mentioned that prolonged deprivation of the North East by the mainland India in every aspects, including industrial, tourism, agriculture and infrastructural development has led the region to face hindrance in development apart from increasing the number of unemployed youth.
Today's function was also attended by Doukhomang Khongsai, State President, NEIDP; N Biswarjit, vice president, CWC; vice-president Sapam Kunjakeshwar and the party spokesperson Potshangbam Dhanakumar as the president and guests of honour respectively.
