Imphal, October 25 2015 :
Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) on Sunday urged Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC) to cancel the recruitment test of college teachers which is to be held on coming October 27 .
In a press meet held at DESAM head office, the alliance's President M Angamba said that MPSC has already notified to conduct test for recruitment of Government College teachers but many candidates has been rejected unreasonably.
The notice mentioned that the applicants should have passed NET as minimum qualification while candidates who got PhD degree after 2009 (UGC Regulation) are exempted from NET.
It was also notified that those candidates who have not passed NET should submit their PhD Degree Compliance Certificates by October 24.But those who got PhD Degree before 2009 were not getting Compliance Certificates from Manipur University, said Angamba and added that whether the MU or concerned Department will provide the Compliance Certificate is still not known.
Over 600 candidates who had submitted their applications will not be able to appear in the test because of they were yet to get the Compliance Certificates.
In many states including Nagaland and Mizoram, their Governments allow candidates who got PhD degree before 2009 appear in college teachers' recruitment test, said Angangba and urged the authorities to call off the test.
If the candidates who could not appear in the test go to court, then the test conducted by MPSC might again be rejected which had also happened before, said the DESAM President and appealed the Government to conduct the test only when a solution was worked out.
