UNC expresses gratitude

United Naga Council (UNC) has expressed its gratitude to all the tribal Hohos/Inpis, Naga frontal organisations, district apex organisations, regional frontal organisations and Naga and tribal general public for enforcing the 48-hour total bandh from October 22 midnight to October 24 midnight in the hill districts of Manipur as a "movement against subjugation" .
UNC said it deplored the lackadaisical attitude of the Government of Manipur towards the tribal people and disrespect to 9 persons whose bodies were still lying at the Morgue of Civil Hospital, Churachandpur Headquarters.
UNC also questioned the policy of the Government of India over its silence on "giving free hand to O Ibobi Singh who is running the state under "goonda raj" .
The council appealed to all right thinking tribal people to support the struggle for a "common secured future" to live with dignity and also to stay alert with all preparedness to fight against all forms of "subjugation and state sponsored terrorism" .
