Free eye camp organised
Jivan Hospital, Kakching in collaboration with Naodam Bazar Community Hall Community, Kakching conducted a one day free eye camp at Naodam bazar community hall today, our correspondent reports.
Over 170 people were provided free eye treatment during the camp.
Sanitation campaign held
Sanitation campaigns under PM Modi's Swachh Bharat Mission was held today at Kakching Municipal ward no 7 and ward no 4 under the aegis of Kakching Municipal Council, our correspondent reports.
The campaign, led by Kakching Municipal ward no 7 and ward no 4 councillors S Premita Devi and M Mukesh Singh was attended by Ward Development Committee members and Kakching locals.
Model Furniture launched
Agriculture and Fishery Minister Md Abdul Nasir launched the range of interiors by Model Furniture at Stupendous Interiors, Kwakeithel Lamdong Leikai today.
Stupendous Interior, a showroom dealing with imported furniture, will henceforth market interior designing products by Model Furniture.
Heart screening camp held
Manipur Heart Foundation (MHF) in association with SKY Hospital and Research Centre, Kamkhya Social Youth Club and Naoriya Pakhanglakpa Kendra Development Committee conducted a one-day heart screening camp at Hiyangthang community hall today, a statement informed.
Altogether, 107 people were screened during the camp.
Bamboo plantation drive cum workshop
Oriental College, Takyel and Salai Holdings Private Limited undertook a bamboo plantation drive at Salai Bio-diversity (Eco) Park, Thinungei today, reports our correspondent.
Representatives from Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, Nepal, Colombia and England who had come to attend the first International Bamboo Conference cum Workshop 2015 in Manipur also participated in the plantation drive.

Church constructed
4 Assam Regiment of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (S) dedicated a Church to the villagers of Molcham on October 23 .
The Church was constructed by troops of 4 Assam Regiment using local resources, said a press release issued by the PRO Hqs IGAR (S) .
It would not only help the villagers to offer Sunday mass prayer but also provide a platform for the security forces and villagers to interact regularly, said the press release further.
Sugar distributed
Kangpokpi AC MLA Nemcha Kipgen distributed sugar to the villagers of Irang Part-I, Irang Par-II and Kalapahar on the eve of Durga Puja.
Executive Member of Sadar Hills ADC, Bhumi Prasad Basnet, Village Authority Board Irang Part-I chairman Hari Prasad Nepal and Kalapahar Youth Club president Milan Pradhan thanked the MLA for her gesture.
