CCpur, February 24 2020:
The Zomi Reunification Organisation has today clarified some issues on the extension of SoO.
'It is unfortunate that some vested elements had made an attempt to side-line and derail the organisation and its leadership creating confusion and divisions amongst the public even to the extent of inviting a surrenderee who is being camped at detention camp to be a party to SoO signatory.
This is nothing but a dirty ploy to discredit and disgrace ZRO, the pioneer of SoO agreement in Manipur, the founder and architect of UPF and author of the blueprint for TC demand,' it said.
"In spite of their relentless efforts to undermine ZRO leadership they ended up in making a mockery of themselves as the Government and the public had realized the impeccable statesmanship of the president, ZRO and his solid stance on our collective and non-negotiable issues", it further added.
The statement also said the president of ZRO had never inked his signature personally when SoO agreement was initially signed.
By convention and mutual trust, it has been signed by a designated representative of the Organisation, this time by Ketheos Zomi.
It also thanked Go, the Churches, prayer warriors, CSOs and all persons concerned who untiringly rally behind their political demands and extend their helping hands in times of need.
