Five day exposure visit flagged off

A five day exposure visit for 25 villagers of Zeilad Wildlife Sanctuary to Kaziranga National Park was kicked offby Nature Learning Centre, Forest Department Manipur in collaboration with National Mission on Himalayan Studies (NMHS), Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, GoI, today.
Forest Department PCCF, K Angami and Additional PCCF Anurag Bajpai flagged off the exposure visit.
Speaking to media persons about the trip, Anurag Bajpai said that altogether 25 locals from various villages situated around Zeilad Wildlife Sanctuary, Tamenglong district and two officials of Forest Department are taking part in the exposure visit.
The trip aims to provide enough exposure and experience to the villages on how to improve the Zeilad Wildlife Sanctuary, which has eco-tourism potential, by visiting the famous Kaziranga National Park in Assam, he added.
He said that it will also give an opportunity to learn about the ways in which the National park attracts tourists from all over the world as well as regarding the maintenance of other facilities like fooding, lodging/ home-stay accommodation, creative and relatable souvenir for the visiting tourists etc.
The locals will be visiting prominent places around the park so as to observe and learn how the villagers there carry out their activities as well as hunt for ideas to promote tourism in their State.
