Imphal, June 15 2013 :
Reaffirming his earlier statement on the alliance of Naga People's Front (NPF) with other Opposition Parties in the State as a ploy to disintegrate Manipur, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam has categorically stated that the NPF's election manifesto clearly shows its "anti-Manipur" attitude by proclaiming to unite all Naga inhabited areas.
He was addressing media persons at his official residence at Babupara here today.
Gaikhangam further said that the Congress Party is not simply making false allegations against the NPF.
Its narrow-minded ideology has made the Party only for the Nagas, he asserted.
Slamming President of NPF Soso Lohro, Gaikhangam said that a former Congressman like him (Lohro) should not talk against the people of the State.
The NPF stands firm against the interests of the State, he added.
Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam informed that the State is considering setting up a fast track court to speed up trials in various criminal cases.
He further noted that the State government would introduce a Bill in the ongoing State Assembly for enactment of a strict law against drug traffickers, and appealed to all to join hands in curbing the menace of drugs in the State.
Commenting on ILP, Gaikhangam said that the State government has earlier made a demand to the Centre for the implementation of ILP System as per the resolution of the State Assembly, but the Central leaders seemed to get offended by the way of making such demand.
The State government with other Political Parties would move ahead to urge the Centre for the implementation of ILP System once again, he stated.
