Jiribam, December 11 2016:
Stranded trucks drivers at Jiribam today stormed Jiri police station after security force convoy allegedly escorted back just few trucks.
Infuriated drivers stated that security convoy left many trucks behind and escorted only few trucks back to Imphal.
On their way back to Jiribam, the security personnel escorted back newly arrived trucks while the trucks which have been stranding for the last few days were left out.
Angry drivers said that all the trucks should be escorted back at one time otherwise none of the trucks should ply.
The drivers also dismantled a signboard of Jiri-Imphal Road Drivers' Union office and also stormed foreigner check post near Jiri bridge and prohibited any truck from proceeding.
Jiribam OC Ng Yaiskul said that the matter has been discussed and necessary steps have been initiated to escort back the stranding trucks.
