Imphal, May 16 2014 :
Even though the election Commission of India had turned down his formal intimation for ordering repoll in polling stations where 90 percent or above votes were cast during the Lok Sabha election for the inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency, CPI candidate complained to the Imphal east district Deputy Commissioner alleging manipulation of the voting process by the Congress party.
The complaint is based on Dr Nara getting fewer votes than expected and the rival Congress candidate securing maximum number of votes.
Contending that successful outing of the Congress candidate would not be possible without the ruling party indulging in proxy voting, he expressed strong displeasure on the poll outcome in his complaint to the DC.
Dr Nara was particularly peeved with the Congress candidate outscoring him in 10 assembly segments covered by three sub-divisions of Imphal East district.
