ICAR chief for a seed processing unit in Manipur

Hengbung, May 12 2012:
The well established and scenic Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) centre at Hengbung village hill range in Manipur's Senapati district, which is located about 55 km north of Imphal, would be equipped with a seed processing unit soon to supply quality seed to the needy farmers in the region.
The Director General of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) Dr S Ayyappan, who is also the Secretary of Department of Agriculture Research and Education (DARE) in his maiden visit to the state promised to open the unit on Saturday.
ICAR Chief was accompanied by ICAR Deputy Director (AE) Dr KD Kokate, Vice Chancellor of Central Agricultural University (CAU)Eroishemba Dr SN Puri, ICAR's Zonal Project Director AK Gogoi in the day's brief visit to the tiny hill station in presence of Hengbung based host NGO of KVK-Foundation for Environment and Economics Development Services(FEEDS) President Haokholet Kipgen and Deputy Commissioner district Senapati PK Jha and officials of other KVKs in Manipur.
