International day against crime and violence on women observed

The International Campaign on 16 Days Activism on Violence Against Women was observed by Women in Governance (WinG), Manipur at the auditorium of Tribal Research Institute (TRI), Chingmeirong here today.
The observance was attended by Member of Autonomous District Council, Churachandpur Grace Zamnu; Convenor of Women's Wing of JCILPS Lourembam Nganbi; President of Kuki Women's Union Rose Mangshi Haokip, President of Tribal Women's Organization Lalan Mate and Consultant of Women in Governance Jare as special invitees.
Speaking on the occasion, Rose Mangshi Haokip said that any crime or violence against women must not be covered up.
Everyone in the society must rise and fight together against the perpetrators.
The increasing cases of crime and violence against women in the State must be tackled with a bold approach.
Women need to act strongly against the offenders and also strive to bring about gender equality in the society, she added.
