AR seizes WY tablets

Imphal, June 24 2018:
In continuation of back to back recoveries of contraband drugs, Tengnoupal Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) recovered a total of 3000 WY tablets in two separate incidents.
Based on specific information received regarding movement of contraband drugs from Moreh towards Imphal on June 22 at around 5.30 pm, a silver coloured Maruti van bearing Regd No MN 02 B0919 was stopped for checking at PVCP, Khudengthabi, Tengnoupal district.
While frisking and carrying out through checking of baggage, 1000 WY tablets were found hidden in a plastic bag full of chillies.
The approximate cost of the contraband drug is Rs 5 lakh.
The apprehendee identified as Lalramchuani (39) od Zion Veng, New Lamka, with recovered item were handed over to Moreh police station.
On the other hand, at around 11 am, a blue coloured Maruti Eeco van bearing Regd No MN 01S 0216 was stopped for checking at Permanent Vehicle Check Post, Khudengthabi.
While frisking and checking of baggage, 2000 WIY tablets were found hidden inside socks of one of the passengers.
The approximate cost of the contraband drug is Rs 10 lakh.
On the other hand, apprehendee Thenkholun Baite (54) of Yangoulen, Khengjoi, Chandel district along with the recovered items were handed over to Moreh Police station.
