Mass vaccination conducted in Thoubal, Imphal East, Imphal West districts

As part of 'Mass vaccination and advocacy programme in private rehabilitation centres in Manipur', Committee of Civil Societies Kangleipak (CCSK) and Union of Private Rehabilitation Centre, Kangleipak (UPRECK) conducted programmes at three private rehabilitation centres in Thoubal district on Wednesday.
The programmes were held under the aegis of DC Thoubal at Life Saver Drugs De-Addiction Treatment Centre, Yairipok Bishnunaha Mayai Leikai, Stepping Stone Rehabilitation Centre, Khangabok Maisnam Leikai and at Anouba Yenning, Thoubal Kiyam Siphai Laiphrakpam Leikai.
Altogether 96 inmates of the three rehabilitation centres were vaccinated against Covid-19 during the programmes, UPRECK secretary S Lakhikumar Singh informed in a statement, adding that police and health department of the district extended help in successful conduct of the programmes.
Similar programmes will be conducted at the remaining private rehabilitation centres and UPRECK will shoulder responsibility for uprooting COVID-19 from the state, the statement said and appealed to private rehabilitation centres which are yet to be enrolled for mass vaccination to do so at the earliest.
As part of local MLA and works minister Th Biswajit's initiative to vaccinate entire people of Thongju AC, a vaccination drive was conducted on Wednesday and 363 people of the constituency were vaccinated during the drive conducted at Bihari memorial library hall, Bashikhong.
The drive was conducted in coordination with district administration of Imphal East and Th Biswajit himself inspected the vaccination drive and appealed to people to get vaccinated so as to protect themselves from COVID-19.He also distributed edible items to people who came out for vaccination.
A mass vaccination programme was also conducted at Top Upokpoki community hall at Wangoi under the aegis of agriculture minister and local MLA O Lukhoi.
Around 400 people were vaccinated during the programme which was conducted with the support of CHC Wangoi medical team and volunteers of Upokpi Social Union with the stated objective of preventing spread of COVID-19 .
