Health Minister extends financial aid

Health Minister L Jayantakumar reached out to a person, at JNIMS hospital today.
The person has been identified as one Lakshmi (47), who has reportedly no one or any family members to take care of her.
She was found unconscious under the Uripok flyover bridge by some people yesterday and later brought to JNIMS.
According to one Shyamkanhai who claimed to know Lakshmi, he and Lakshmi have been living under the flyover as daily wage earners for the past four to five years.
Shyamkanhai claimed that the Lakshmi has no home and added that she was rushed to JNIMS medicine ward after she suddenly fell unconscious.
Meanwhile, the Health Minister extended financial assistance to the person and urged JNIMS Director and staff to take proper care of the woman.
Later, the Minister headed to the residence of one Moirangthem Bembem of Sekmai Awang Leikai and extended financial aid to her as well.
She was earlier admitted to JNIMS hospital but her treatment was discontinued due to lack of financial support before she was subsequently admitted to JNIMS ICU.
Bembem's incident came into light when ISTV carried out an exclusive coverage on its channel.
Speaking to media persons, Jayantakumar expressed that such incidents are distressing and conveyed that he came to know about Bembem through the ISTV's exclusive coverage.
The Minister said that although the State Government has launched several health, schemes for the people like Chief Minister gi Halshel gi Tengbang, awareness about the schemes seems to be confined to only a few people which is quite unfortunate.
He further assured to extend all possible aid apart from making CMHT card for the deprived family.
