Driver, handyman pulled up for loose tongue with girl student

The driver and the handyman of a Tata Magic passenger service plying between Wangjing and Imphal who used unparliamentary language on a girl student studying in B Sc first semester in DM College of Science were pulled up.
The incident reportedly took place on September 18 while the victim girl was going to the college travelling in the Tata Magic bearing registration no.MN04/A-7294 .
The accused driver has been identified as Aribam Tulak Kahan @ Apik (24) s/o Najamuddin while the handyman as Aribam Ajis khan @ Ithem (18) s/o Heimu, both residents of Sangaiyumpham Mayai Leikai Pt-II.
Talking to media in connection with the incident at the office of AMSU,Thoubal District today, HRD Secretary of the student body Bidyarani Wahengbam informed that on that day, the victim girl was coming to her college travelling in the Tata Magic vehicle from Wangjing.
After all the passengers got down near Johnstone School, the victim girl requested the driver and the handyman to drop her till her college gate.
Taking advantage of her loneliness in the vehicle, the driver and the handyman started speaking to her using all sorts of unparliamentary languages.
When the victim girl called up the secretary of the college union and other friends on her mobile phone, the accused driver and the handyman suddenly drove the vehicle towards MG Avenue side.
But the girl managed to jump out of the vehicle.
Following the complaint lodged by the victim girl, the accused driver and the handyman were called up in the office of AMSU Thoubal District yesterday and they admitted to their misconduct.
However, none of the members of the Wangjing to Imphal Magic Welfare Association showed up.
So until the members of the Association came for necessary talks in connection with the incident, the service of the vehicles under the Association would be banned, Bidyarani announced.
She also appealed to all the vehicle owners not to employ the accused driver and the handyman.
