Stir suspended

Following an assurance given by the Government, All Manipur NRHM Techinical Support Staff Union and Association for Block Finance/Accounts have suspended the stir that commenced on December 3 last.
In a press conference held at Manipur Press Club this afternoon, All Manipur NRHM Techinical Support Staff Union general secretary Salam Pari said, the agitating employees would return to their normal duties from December 20 .
The stir has been called off following an assurance given by the Health Minister in a meeting held yesterday.
Informing that the Minister promised to fulfill most of the demands of the two organisations, the general secretary said that the agreed demands include clearance of due salary within January next year, preparation and implementation of service rules of State Health Mission Society and equal entitlement of performance based honorarium etc.
Expressing regret for causing inconvience to the general public during the strike, he urged the NRHM employees concerned to return to normal duties from December 20 .
The general secretary further said that the Government also assured the organisations to look into demands like provision of maternity leave to women staff with the rectification of NRHM service rules and absorption of 75 percent of the posts from NRHM staff when there are vacancies at the State Health Services in accordance with the new guidelines
of 2013-2014 .
