Imphal, December 19 2012: Three cadres of KCP-MC (Lamyanba Khuman) and two cadres of KNF involved in the abduction of two workers of HVS Constructions Pvt Ltd have been arrested with arms and ammunition and Rs 7 lakh in cash by Manipur Police Commandos.

All the five cadres were paraded before the media at Imphal West District Police headquarters tonight.

Imphal West Additional SP (Law and Order) N Herojit said that after getting information regarding presence of cadres of the two outfits at Nagamapal, police commandos conducted a search operation at around 5.30 pm at the area yesterday.

The commando team detected two suspicious persons standing near a dark blue Santro car (MN-03P/0910) near Tongbra Opticals at Nagapamal.

The commando team immediately detained the two persons and had verification.

On questioning, they revealed that they are the cadres of KNF, the ASP said.

The duo have been identified as Doujagin Haokip alias Beeny (35) s/o late Thongkhomang of V Vengnom Laizon Veng, Churachandpur and Takhellambam Anand alias Max (38) s/o Yaima of Kangchup Songlung of Senapati district.

On their revelation, police seized one AK-56 rifle loaded with nine bullets in the magazine from Sadar Joute hillock situated close to Bishnupur district but falls under Senapati district.

Later, with assistance from Thoubal district police commandos, KCP-MC (Lamyanba Khuman) cadre Naorem Kheman alias Prem (36) s/o late Kala of Thoubal Bazar was nabbed near UBI Branch, Thoubal at around 7 pm yesterday, he added.

Herojit said that Rs 7 lakh was seized from Kheman which according to Doujagin and Anand was the ransom amount got from the abduction of two workers of HVS Constructions Pvt Ltd.

It may be mentioned that excavator operators of the private company, Hawaibam Suresh (22) of Khaidem Awang Leikai and Jalauddin Barbhuiya (27) of Appin Part -II of Hailakandi, Assam were abducted for a ransom of Rs 2 crore from Keithelmanbi on Imphal-Jiribam road on November 25 last.

ASP Herojit said that the two workers had been released three days back.

Furthermore, Herojit said, on Kheman's disclosure, two more KCP-MC (Lamyanba Khuman) cadres identified as Angom Ibochouba alias Punshiba alias Lanchaiba (38) s/o Ibomcha of Moirang Khoiru Leikai and Khuraijam Helemjit alias Naochouba (26) s/o Munal of Mayanglangjing Tamang were arrested with assistance from Bishnupur district police commandos at around 6.30 am today from Nambol Bazar.

One 9mm pistol loaded with three bullets in the magazine and one .32 pistol loaded with one bullet in the magazine were seized from Ibochouba and Helemjit.

Four mobile handsets were also recovered from the possession of the five arrested cadres.

Disclosing that all five of them were involved in the abduction of two workers of HVS Constructions Pvt Ltd, Herojit said that the seized arms were used in the abduction.

Informing that further investigation is going on, Herojit said that police would not spare anybody who extends help in abduction and ransoming.
