An official team of World Bank arrived here today as a part of its endeavour to study the power distribution system and oversee implementation of the project in the North East region, including Manipur.
Soon after arrival, a seven-member World Bank officials held talks with the State's Commissioner (Power) Rajesh Agarwal and Power Department's Chief Engineer N Sarat on ways to improve the power distribution in the region.
Even though details of the meeting were not disclosed, an informed source confirmed that the World bank officials are here to work out a viable means for strengthening the power grid connectivity with Manipur and other States of the region.
As a part of its visit, the World Bank team will meet Power Department officials for a more minute study on the present state of the power distribution system in the State.
