Imphal, June 16 2012:
All Manipur United Clubs Organisation (AMUCO) extended financial assistance S Sobita, who lost her right leg as well as to Gulshan and Goldie, surviving children of Laitonjam Rajkumar and Kshetrimayum Romeo respectively who also lost their lives during the June 18 mass uprising in 2001 for protection of territorial integrity of Manipur today.
An amount of Rs 5000 each were given to them during a simple function held at the office of AMUCO located at Kwakeithel Akham Leikai today.

Speaking on the occasion, KT Rahman, President of AMUCO contended that after effecting forceful merger of Manipur, India has been relentlessly trying to disintegrate the territory of Manipur and imposing various draconian laws to suppress the people.
We need to stand against any forces trying to disturb the territorial integrity of Manipur and bring about peace, harmony and prosperity in our society, Rahman said.
