Taking serious note of reports that urea fertilizer is being sold at prices higher than the 'notified rate - Rs 266.80 per 45 kg bag,' Directorate of Agriculture has cautioned that those spiking price may face cancellation of their dealership/retailership.
Urea fertilizer is to be sold at the rate fixed by the Government and as per Section 3 (3) of the Fertilizer (Control) Order 1985, "No dealer, manufacturer, importer or pool handling agency shall sell or offer for sale any fertilizer at a price exceeding the maximum price or rate fixed under this clause" .
The notified rate for Manipur is Rs 266.80 per 45 kg bag, said the Directorate.
There has been report of fertilizer being sold at prices higher than the notified rate.
The Agriculture Department is trying to obtain specific input on these reported incidents.
Any specific input on such sale of urea at higher price may be reported at 9366335513 or at email - [email protected] District Agriculture Officers/Fertilizer Inspectors have also been directed to submit their inspection/verification report on or before 4 pm of May 10 .
Any dealer found spiking price may face legal actions including cancellation of dealership/retailership, said the Directorate.
