Chiulon reaches Manchuria

Imphal, May 09 2020:
Chiulon, the Amur Falcon which was fitted with satellite radio transmitter in Tamenglong district by Forest Department and Wildlife Institute of India to study their migratory route, had reached China's Manchuria.
After roosting the winter season in South Africa, the bird flew back towards its breeding place and it reach-ed Manchuria on May 7, said WII scientist Dr Suresh Kumar.
Chiulon left Somalia on April 23 and it covered 9600 Kms as it reached Manchuria from Somalia.
Irang and Barak, the other two Amur Falcons which were also fitted with satellite radio transmitters are flying over Myanmar's northern Mandalay and Godavari River respectively.
