Fake jobs at RIMS:: 2 women fraudsters nabbed

Two women have allegedly collected about Rs.8 lakhs from five persons for appointment to various posts at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal.
The women have been identified as Wangkhem Bijaya (23), d/o Wangkhem Manichandra of Chingmeirong Mamang Leikai, and Nongmaithem Sandhyarani (34), d/o (late) Biramangol of Leimakhong.
They were apprehended by volunteers of ACOAM Lup and paraded before media persons at its office at Lamphelpat here today.
The women disclosed that they had collected about Rs.8 lakhs from five persons for appointment as receptionists and attendants at RIMS.
They took Rs.2 lakhs from Yumnam Ingoubi of Mayang Imhal Yangbi in February last year, Rs.2.20 lakhs from Potsangbam Jibon of Mayang Imphal, Rs.2 lakhs from Sanasam Naocha of Noaremthong Laishram Leirak, Rs.80 thousands from Nongmaithem Bormala of Leimakhong and Rs.1 lakh from Moibungkhongbam Keinasana of Naoremthong Laishram Leirak.
At first, they said that the money collected from the five persons was handed over to Yumnam Sima, d/o Y Brajakishore of Moirang but presently staying at Lalambung.
However, Brajakishore and Sima could not be traced anywhere.
Later, Bijaya admitted that Brajakishore and Sima were not involved.She alone had used up all the money taken from those five persons for appointment at RIMS.
The volunteers of ACOAM Lup handed the two women over to the custody of Lamphel Police Station for necessary legal action.
ACOAM Lup further appealed to all to be cautious against such fraudsters who dupe people by collecting huge amount of money on false promise of giving jobs.
