Street lamps distributed

Imphal, January 28 2021:
International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA), head office and Jiribam Branch, have on January 24 distributed 10 solar street lamps under MANIREDA Department for installation at Boroikhal village in Jiribam district.
Solar lamps for two other villages - Sabhughat and Babukhal will be distributed in February.
IPSA also praised Jiribam DC Malemnganba Chenglei for facilitating in receiving the solar lamps from MANIREDA.
Speaking as the chief guest of the distribution programme, IPSA president Konthoujam Joychandra, said that it was a matter of serious concern for an area to be bereft of proper transport connectivity and electricity in this era of superfast communication.
The Works Minister, on the occasion of 22nd foundation day of IPSA, has assured to construct a proper road connecting Babukhal, Sabhughat and Boroikhul, however the assurance has not been translated into action so far.
The COVID-19 pandemic may have hindered the commencement of the construction work, Joychandra continued while reiterating to the concerned Department to start the construction work at the earliest to alleviate the hardships of the people of the three villages which are relying on boats as major means of transport.
Ng Gopeshwor, Member Hijghat Gram Panchayat Ward No 1 attended the distribution programme as function president as Ak Sanjoy Meitei, general secretary, IPSA; W Guneshwor, secretary administration, IPSA and N Dijendra, president, IPSA Jiribam Branch graced the function as guests of honour.
