MLA against DC transfer; 12-hr Cdl bandh called

MLA of 41 Chandel A/C St Nunghlung Victor has expressed stiff opposition against transferring of Chandel DC Robert Singh Kshetrimayum today.
Informing this to newsmen, the MLA came down heavily on the govt and said, 'the government which is supposed to work in the interest of the people in general had done irreparable damage by transferring the DC, who is liked by the people' .
Narrating the commendable works Robert had done during his short stay as Chandel DC in charge, the MLA strongly demanded stay of the transfer order.
Meanwhile, protesting the transfer, Anal Naga Tangpi (Anal Naga Union), in a separate statement, has called for 12 hour total bandh in the district beginning from 5 am of October 10 .
The statement demanded immediate revocation of the order, while at the same time urging for inclusion of Chandel block under NERCORMP III.
It is further stated that the bandh has been called to demand expediting repairing work of Chandel Pallel road, Chandel-Sugnu- Chakpikarong road and cancellation of the Chakpi Multi Purpose project.
PHED, Health, electricity, security forces and educational institutions and media will be exempted from the purview of the bandh.
