2 day regional seminar inaugurated

A 2 Day Regional seminar on Man and Environment Philosophical Approaches to Indigenous Knowledge Tradition of North East India was inaugurated today at DM College of Arts under the aegis of Indian Council of Philosophical Research, New Delhi and DM College of Arts.
A Syam Sharma (Padmashri Retd Head of Philosophy Department, DM College of Arts), Professor S Shyamkishore Singh (Retd Professor of Philosophy & Dean of Humanities, MU) and M Ibohal Singh (Principal, DM College of Arts) attended the event as the chief guest, of honour and president respectively.
Speaking at the function, Dr Kh Gukulchandra (HoD Philosophy, DM College of Arts) said that the seminar has been organised in order to know more and discuss about the importance of preserving trees in light of the current situation of environmental degradation through the legal aspect.
After the inauguration function, two academic sessions were also held in which professors and retired professors of different universities from different States of the North East region gave speeches on various topics as resource persons.
