Late MLA's wife held

Imphal, March 20 2016:
Lamphel police have arrested one of the four
wives of late MLA of Mayang Imphal AC, Md Abdul Latif on the
charge of fraudulent claiming of the former MLA's pension
amount from the State Assembly Secretariat using forged docu-
ments on March 18 .
The woman has been identified as Rashida Bibi (56) of
Mayang Imphal Bengoon Mamang Leikai.
It is said that two other wives of Md Abdul Latif, identified
as Leiphon Bibi (68) and Tombi Bibi ((50) were also involved
in the alleged fraud case.
The matter came to light after the fourth wife of the former
MLA, identified as Nahapishak Bibi (56) filed a complaint at
Lamphel police station on January 21 this year.
In her complaint, Nahapishak claimed that she is a legal
wife of the late MLA who passed away around 14 years ago.
Although, Nahapishak had two children with her husband,
both the children died at young age.
The complaint further said that when she enquired about
her husband's cumulative pension amount at the Assembly
Secretariat, she came to know that Leiphon Bibi, Tombi Bibi
and Rashida Bibi had withdrawn it.
Further enquiry revealed that the said amount was claimed
using forged documents with the help of Advocate Ziauddin
Rehaman, the complaint said.
Based on Nahapishak's complaint, police arrested Rashida
Bibi on March 18 while Leiphon Bibi and Tombi Bibi are on
the run.
Police are also searching for Advocate Ziauddin Rehaman,
said a source.
