Villagers of Kumbi Tera Kha and surrounding areas have demanded a clarification from Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha State president Oinam Malesh regarding the estimated cost of construction of 96 inter-village roads.
Speaking at a press conference held at Manipur Press Club, Tera Kha Youth Club secertary Chongtham Rojesh said that Oinam Malesh told the media during a visit to the area that the estimated cost of the work taken up by PDA is Rs 19 crore.
The BJYM State president also alleged that the work has not been executed properly.
Regarding the allegations, Rojesh clarified that the estimated cost of the work is Rs 15.05 crore and construction works are yet to be completed.
As such, it is too early to level allegations against the contractors at this point of time, Rojesh said.
He also said that Malesh must clarify on the issue as his allegations have created misconceptions in people's minds.
60 per cent of the work has been completed, he said and added that black topping works are yet to be executed in most of the area.
embers of TYC, SYASWA and AKKU and Meira Paibis conducted a joint meeting at Kumbi Tera Kha regarding the matter today, he said.
