All the four nominations filed for the Yaiskul bye-election slated for December 19 were scrutinised today and all nominations were okayed.
The scrutiny was conducted by Election Observer, Dr Chandramohon and RO, Yumnam Robita from 11am today.
The scrutiny was completed around 1pm.All the four candidates, E Suraj, Hanjabam Jaydev alias Gandhi, G Jagdish Sharma and S Rajendrakumar, were present today.
Pertinently, traffics along the roads leading to Imphal East DC Complex at Porompat were jammed as huge numbers of supporters of E Suraj and Jaydev turned out today.
Flags with an imprint of palm adored most of the vehicles along the roads leading to DC Complex where the scrutiny was conducted.
Several Congress MLAs have also accompanied the crowds.
With the cheers of both the supporters of Suraj and Jadev, observers feel that the coming election would be a very interesting election.
As a gesture to agree that both the candidates would be major fighters in the coming election, Suraj and Jaydev exchanged a smile and shook their hands.
According to an announcement of RO, Yumnam Robita, the election symbol of Jaydev is 'candle.' S Rajendrakumar is allotted the symbol of woman with case in her head while Jagdish is allotted 'basket' as his election symbol.
