The State Government may institute an inquiry into the alleged irregular appointment of 50 employees in the Manipur Police Housing Corporation, effected during the time of a former Managing Director of the Corporation.
Speaking to The Sangai Express a well placed source said that a senior police officer may be involved in the irregular appointment of the 50 employees in the Housing Corporation.
The board of the Corporation has already discussed the matter during a meeting earlier.
The number of regular employees in the MPHC was 70 but over 50 employees from the rank of Junior Engineers to LDCs were appointed during the tenure of the former Managing Director, informed the source.
The irregular appointment of the 50 staff also came up for discussion during a meeting of the Board of the Corporation.
Chief Secretary Jarnail Singh is the Chairman of the Board.
The meeting discussed on the possibility of instituting an inquiry into the matter, added the source.
