Student community demands justice, silent procession held

Kangpokpi, November 27 2017:
Students, teaching and non-teaching staffs of MBC Higher Secondary School, Kangpokpi and Kangpokpi Mission High School held a silent procession at Kangpokpi DHQs, condemning the brutal killing of MBC Higher Secondary School Principal Lenkholal Chongloi today .
The Principal, who set out for hunting on November 24 afternoon was found brutally killed with bullet injuries mark the next day by a search team who went out in search of him when he did not come back .
Around 700 students of MBC School and Kangpokpi Mission High School including teaching and non-teaching staffs participated in the silent procession, from 11 am till 2 pm, reports our correspondent .

Students and the staff marched from Kangpokpi Mission campus till Kangpokpi DHQs where few representatives met with the Deputy Commissioner at his office chamber and submitted a memorandum .
The silent protesters held various banner embossed with "Book the Culprit! Please Surrender for Peace! What is our Principal's mistake! Sir, where are you???", "Where is our Principal?? Who killed our Principal??” .
The memorandum submitted to Deputy Commissioner, Kangpokpi was signed by Vice Principal of MBC School, Kangpokpi, Bir Pradhan on behalf of the students and teachers .
The memorandum demanded justice of the deceased and punishment of the culprit involved .
It also demanded the declaration of November 25 as "Teachers' Dignity Day" in the district, so that it remains as a reminder and a permanent mark of the importance, respect and honour every teachers deserve in the society .
It further cautioned that until and unless justice is delivered, , the people of the district will be compelled to take up all forms of protests .
Later in the afternoon, DC, Kangpokpi T Ranjit Singh immediately wrote to SP Kangpokpi tagging the letter 'Most Immediate' to commence necessary action .
The Deputy Commissioner also forwarded the memorandum to SDC (HQ) also.
