Farmers' training held

A one day farmers' training on quality seed pro-
duction on oilseeds and pulses was held at Sihai
Khullen village today, reports Mungchan Zimik.

Ramakhrishna said that Ukhrul has a poten-
tial to produce huge quantity of oilseeds and
pulses however knowledge on technical input
and ability to impart them are necessary for
extensive cultivation.
N Ajitkumar, SMS, KVK Ukhrul also
highlighted the importance of quality seed
production particularly in Ukhrul.
The training programme emphasized
mainly on nutrient management and its im-
portance in seed quality production, prospects
and procedure of quality seed production.
Officials of Community Block, Keirao Bitra and
Pradhan of Yairipok Changamdabi Gram
Panchayat today inspected the MGNREGA job
card holders who are working at various sites,
reports our correspondent.

Changamadabi Gram Panchayat said a total
of 1937 MGNREGA job card holders are
engaged in construction of pucca drain at
Changamdabi Mathak Mamang Ipu
Anamuddin Leirak and Changamdabi Mathak
Mamang Leirak.
"All the job card holders are working
earnestly and we are delighted to see the
construction works are progressing satisfac-
torily," the Pradhan said.
Headman of Sihai village Luingam expressed gratitude to
the department for organising the programme for the village
farmers.
The training programme was jointly organised by KVK,
Ukhrul and ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region,
Manipur Centre Imphal.
