Imphal, August 05 2016 :
Lok Janashakti Party spokesperson N Ibohal has expressed disappointment with veteran politician O Joy for his remark that LJP is the tail of the Congress and BJP.
Speaking to media persons at the LJP office at Babupara today, Ibohal said it is upto the National Parliamentary Board to decide which party the Lok Janashakti should form an alliance with.
"O Joy does not seem to understand that forming alliance with another party is not within the power of party leaders in the State," Ibohal said adding that his association with a small local party for a prolonged period must have caused this lack of information.
The LJP spokesperson further lashed out at O Joy for his alleged ignorance about the powers and functions of political parties.
"Be it BJP or LJP, a party functions according to the directive of the Central leaders," he stated.
He urged O Joy to refrain from making similar comments in the future.
Observing that nothing has been divulged about the Framework Agreement signed between the NSCN (IM) and the Government of India, Ibohal said that LJP would oppose the agreement if it infringes upon the rights and interests of the people of Manipur in any manner.
If the Framework Agreement poses any threat to the integrity of Manipur, LJP will never go together with BJP.
But it is still too early to take a decision on the matter.
