Imphal, July 28 2021:
Regional Institute of Medical Sciences Students' Union (RIMSSU) has expressed gratitude to the Director of RIMS for his efficient leadership and guidance in handling the pandemic.
In a statement issued today, RIMSSU said under the guidance of the Director, all the students and staff of RIMS have been vaccinated with both the doses by breaking the myth about the side effects of the vaccine by getting the vaccine himself before everyone else did.
The Director had also initiated the process to increase the number of COVID-19 beds in the hospital to effectively manage the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the State while also ensuring that no patient in the hospital is made to suffer due to lack of bed or Oxygen cylinders, added the statement.
Meanwhile, the hospital is also providing treatment to non-Covid patients too by conducting elective and emergency operations, discharging patients in time and admitting as many patients so that none of the beds remain vacant.
RIMSSU also said in the statement that life and death is not in anyone's hand, but what the doctor does is try and do everything they can to save every possible life they can.
But sometimes some people try to portray the doctors and medical staff in poor light and alleged manhandling of the situation which is really unfortunate.
