Imphal, June 23 2013:
Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) has appealed the State Government to take up a credible step which may give satisfaction to the wish of the general public regarding State PMT issue at the earliest.
The State Government would not be in a condition to face a collective intense agitation of the people for putting the PMT candidates into a state of mental dilemma, said a press release of the students' body.
MSF also decried the State Medical Directorate for continuing the process of holding counselling of NEET qualified candidates under police protection although it has been demanded from all quarters to hold State PMT instead.
The press release said that the Supreme Court interim order issued on May 13 this year did decree to cancel State PMTs.
The interim order revoked the decree imposed on December 13 last year regarding declaration of State PMT results, it added.
At such a scenario, why is the State Government trying to hold counselling of NEET qualified candidates without giving any valid reason for the cancellation of this year's State PMT, MSF questioned.
The State must immediately give up its dictating policy as it had already started issuing admit cards to State PMT candidates after the submission of application forms by 5756 candidates.
Such decisions which are taken in urgency would not only give mental dilemma to the candidates but also jeopardise their academic career, MSF added.
