HSLC Exam-2013: 28 Govt schools, 11 aided draw blank

The results of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC), 2013 conducted by Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BSEM) which was declared on May 20 last have shown 'nil' pass percentage in 28 Government Schools and 11 aided Schools.
In all, 7208 students have appeared in the HSLC exam, 2013 from 288 Government schools.
Out of this, 3,833 students cleared the exam.
The pass percentage, thus, recorded in Government schools was 53.18 .
Interestingly, among the Government schools which could not produce even a single student who could pass in the exam, are a number of schools which were once acclaimed as best schools.
They are Kebol Girls' High School from where 14 students have appeared in the exam; Lalambung High School from where 22 students have appeared; Nambol Leiren Girls' Hr Sec School from where 16 students have appeared; Jiribam Netaji High School from where 40 students have appeared; Sagolmang High School from where 22 students have appeared; Yairipok High School from where 14 students have appeared and Latingkhal High School from where 13 students have appeared in the examination.
Ch Iboyaima Higher Secondary in Thoubal district, which had produced a position holderin the HSLC examination held earlier, failed to come up with a single student who could make through the exam this time.
In all 11 students have appeared from the school in the HSLC exam this time.
Heirangoithong Girls' High School, Kwakeithel Girls High School, Mao Higher Secondary School, Model Higher Secondary School, Rashtralipi High School, and Thangmeiband Khuyathong Tombisana High School also were among the Government schools which drew blank in the results of HSLC examination, 2013 .
Among the Government Aided schools maintaining 'nil' pass percentage in the HSLC examination, 2013 included Langdum High School from where 29 students have appeared, Jiribam Kasturba Girls High School from where 13 students have appeared, City High School, Ch Thamboumacha High School, Porompat Girls high School and Thambaljao High School.
Out of the total 86 Government Aided Schools in the State, 11 of them came out with nil pass percentage.
Altogether 2047 students have appeared in the exam from Government aided schools, but only 1294 students managed to pass, thus, recording a pass percentage of 62 .
It may be recalled here that in the HSLC examination, 2012, there were altogether 29 Government Schools where not a single student could clear.
Thirteen Government aided schools had also failed to produce a single student passing the exam last year.
