Blessing of Emoinu evoked all over State

Imphal, January 23 2013:
The traditional ritual of worshipping Emoinu, the goddess of wealth and family values, to evoke blessing for peace and prosperity in the land and well-being to its people, was observed all over the State by different organizations today.
The main event was held under the joint aegis of Utra Shanglen of Sana Konung (Royal Palace) and Pacha Loishang here with Amaibas and Amaibis (high priests and priestesses) conducting the worship session along with members of Pacha Loishang at Utra Shanglen.
The worship session would continue for three days.
The worship session of Goddess Emoinu was also conducted under the joint aegis of Kangla Religious Committee and Kangla Fort Board at the Utra Shanglen of Kangla.
The observance was marked by lighting of lamps, exchange of gifts, recital of Pena and presentation of traditional folk music/songs.
The function was also attended by representatives of Kabui community.
At the premises of Chingamakha Lairembi ground, Emoinu Irat Thouni Thouram was organized jointly by Chingamakha Model Club, Sanulal and Chingamakha Apunba Nupi Lamjing Lup.
The worship session commenced with performance of religious rituals to appease the goddess by Amaibas and Amaibis of Sana Konung.
Accompanied by band parties on foot and horseback, womenfolk of Chingamakha brought Athenpots and offered them to Goddess Emoinu to seek blessing.
On the occasion, a five feet lamp which holds around 100 litres of Kerosene was lit up by Angom king, exactly at sunset.
Cultural programmes and Thang-ta demonstration were other highlights of the worship session.
Emoinu Erat Thouni was also held at Jiribam.
The event was organized jointly by Jiri-Cahar Sanamahi Laining Lup and Meetei Erat Thougal Lup at the sacred site of Lainingthou Sanamahi located within the complex of Goddess Emoinu at Lairembi Leikai.
