Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board to organise series of traditional, religious programmes

Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board (LSTB) will be organising a series of traditional and religious programmes starting from 'Mera Chaorel Houba', the religious Meitei festival which falls on September 26 .
Addressing media persons during a press meet held in connection with the programme at Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board office today, Member Secretary, Meisnam Shivdutta Luwang has stated that 'Mera Chaorel Houba' is an important religious festival of those who follow Sanamahi Laining faith.
In connection with this festival, LSTB will be organising various indigenous and religious programmes, he added.
He went on to state that the ritual of 'Mera Chaorel Houba' will begin in the morning of September 26 with a religious march to take holy water from the sacred site of Nungjeng Ikon of Kangla.
Shivdutta also informed that a blessing seeking ceremony will be held on October 3 for the well-being of the State.
A building dedicated to the forefathers who strove earnestly for the upliftment of Sanamahi faith which has been christened 'Sanagi Ningshing Sagai' will be inaugurated during the event, he said.
He further stated that 15-day workshop cum certificate courses on Mera Thanil (Mera Wayungba), Mera Lairik Taba and on the birth, death and wedding rituals of the followers of Sanamahi Laining faith will also be held.
