Two Rohingyas, one local held

Imphal, May 19 2018:
A 25 year old Rohingya woman from Myanmar and her eight year old daughter were apprehended by Assam Rifles together with one local man who brought the mother-daughter duo to the State.
The three of them were apprehended by troops of 12 Assam Rifles at Khudengthabi along Imphal-Moreh highway at around 1.30 pm yesterday.
The Rohingya woman from Myanmar has been identified as one Alima Begum (25) w/o late Md Rashid.
She and her daughter were brought to the State by one Md Zakir Hussain of Lilong Haoreibi Awang Leikai, Thoubal district.
Alima was in possession of a forged Aadhaar card which claims that she is one Halima Begum (30) of Durgapur Ward No 5, Sona Mura, Tripura.
Zakir Hussain was supposed to take Alima and her daughter to Tripura through Imphal but they were arrested at Khudengthabi.
They were handed over to Moreh police station yesterday.
On further investigation, police arrested one Isaaq Ali ; (32) s/o Kazim Ali of Moreh Ward No 5 last night on the ; suspicion that he might also be involved in bringing the i mother-daughter duo to the State, informed a source.
